The contract signing ceremony between the Nigerian Naval Forces and Dearsan Gemi Ä°nÅŸa Sanayi A.Åž., attended by Members of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Officials of the Ministry of Defense, Commander of the Naval Forces Vice Admiral AZ GAMBO, Headquarters staff of the Naval Forces Command, Aziz YILDIRIM, Chairman of the Board of Dearsan and our company executives, was held on 6 June 2023. It was held in Abuja, Nigeria.

A contract was signed between our shipyard and the Nigerian Naval Forces Command within the scope of the Modernization project of the historically important NNS ARADU (F89) Frigate, the Flagship of the Nigerian Navy. The modernization project of the MEKO 360 class NNS ARADU Frigate with a length of 125 meters and a displacement of 3500 tons, built by the German Blohm & Voss Shipyard and put into service in the Nigerian Navy since 1982, will be carried out at our shipyard in Tuzla. Within the scope of the project, old and out of use systems, equipment and devices will be repaired or renewed with modern equivalents, and the ship will be brought to contemporary standards.

Within the scope of the same Agreement; A 57-meter Tuzla Class Patrol Ship will also be delivered to the Nigerian Naval Forces Command. The Nigerian Navy will be the fourth user of the 57-meter Patrol Ship, the 27th of which will be delivered, after the Turkish Naval Forces, Turkmenistan Naval Forces and Turkmenistan Coast Guard Commands.

The Patrol Ship, which can take active roles in Base and Port Security, Intelligence Gathering, Reconnaissance and Surveillance, Combating Illegal Migration and Smuggling, Protection of Rights and Interests at Sea and Natural Resources, will have weapon systems for Surface Warfare, Air Defense Warfare and Asymmetric Warfare. We are happy and proud that our platform, which has the distinction of being Turkey's first national warship, will also carry out its duties in Nigerian territorial waters from now on.

Along with our aforementioned modernization and new construction projects, we resolutely continue our efforts for the continuation of the relations between the Republic of Turkey and the Federal Republic of Nigeria and for our export targets with Nigeria and other countries.
